Senior Project Engineer

2014 – Present: McLane Company Inc., Temple TX

Manage design and construction efforts for McLane Company refrigerated distribution centers. Supervise the design and construction of new DCs and numerous expansions across the United States. In addition to new construction, assisted in remodels and local building maintenance. Also manage larger facility maintenance as in parking lot expansions, reroofing and major refrigeration projects.

Managed project delivery of government and retail lump sum bid projects. Handled documentation and communications with owner and subcontractors from award through close out. Project duties inclusive of budget analysis, scheduling, subcontractor relations, owner relations, safety observations, and field staff management.

Corporate Director of Design and Construction

2002- 2007: Camping World, Inc., Bowling Green KY

Managed design and construction efforts for Camping World retail stores and distribution centers. In five years opened 30 new retail facilities, relocated and expanded two distribution centers. Worked with Business Development Department from site selection and due diligence through the architectural and civil permitting into construction and operations occupation. In addition to new construction, also directed remodels, mechanical and electrical upgrades, and facility maintenance.

1994 – 2002: Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Bentonville AR

Director of Construction (6 Years)

Managed specific geographic regions, building 90+ new Wal-Marts, SuperCenters, and Neighborhood Markets annually. Responsible for team management of five to eight Construction Managers, while reviewing budgets, bids, change orders, claims, and annual program goals. Also responsible for communicating with Real Estate, Design, and Operations regarding project schedules, design change implementation, and program status.

Civil Engineering Program Manager (1 Year -)

Managed multiple Engineering Consultants producing real estate and construction packages from due diligence through construction. Monitored multiple projects for design, scheduling, document quality and budgeting. On an annual basis, monitored 60+ projects through their inception to close out.

Architectural Program Manager (1 Year +)

Managed multiple architectural and MEP consultants producing documents for 50+ Wal-Mart SuperCenter expansions and acquisition projects per program year. Coordinated efforts with internal and external partners from conceptual site plan through final design approval and permitting.

Construction Manager (1 Year -)

Construction Manager assigned to special projects, consisting of the expansion of existing Wal-Mart stores to larger stores and SuperCenters. Duties as owner’s representative included monitoring project quality, scheduling, and contract compliance. Made regular site visits while managing as many as 7 projects at a given time.

1982 – 1993: Besteel Industries, Irvine CA

Senior Executive Account Representative – Boston MA

Opened a new satellite office, serving the petroleum retail construction industry throughout the New England area. The majority of work was with national petroleum clients such as Mobil Oil, Shell Oil and Exxon. Besteel Industries was a supplier of superstructures to the petroleum retail industry, and closed business operations in 1994.

Senior Executive Account Representative – Philadelphia PA

Joined an existing satellite office performing similar duties as in New England.

Senior Executive Account Representative – Columbus OH

Opened a new satellite office, servicing the Greater Ohio Valley. Duties similar to that in New England, primarily working with Shell Oil, and British Petroleum.

Executive Account Representative – Ft. Worth TX

Worked out of the regional manufacturing facility, assisting in plant scheduling through field installation, for major oil clients.
