This position involved working different claims determining why a procedure was not covered by the insurance. Physician offices would send in questions on specific claims and it was up to me to research and provide the answer. To do my research I used Navigator and Beacon. My responsibilities I were to look through patient’s files and send the prescriptions to the next queue so that the technician could call and confirm with the office.
I would also, look through the daily calls to doctor’s offices to confirm a prescription that was the patient’s profile before filling it. The handwriting could be hard to read and I contacted the doctor’s nurse confirm the information and that I would correct it in the system and then send it to be filled.
