I am the principal coauthor of the first textbook on Adaptive Arrays. This work was translated into Russian and is considered an engineering classic. Am listed in Who’s Who in the West and have experience in the areas noted below
Education
B.S.E.E, Stanford University, Palo Alto
M.S.E.E., Univ. of Arizona, Tucson
Sc.D., Washington Univ., St. Louis
Work Experience
Toberman House, Math Tutor, 2015 - present
Millenium Space Systems, Consultant, 2014
The Aerospace Corporation, 2000 – 2013 Senior Engineering Specialist; Digital Signal Implementation Dept. Design of Adaptive Arrays. Modeling of GPS receivers using MATLAB to evaluate performance under various jamming scenarios. Responsible for the design of robust communication links for communication satellites. Analyzed link budgets for different scenarios to set bounds for the power and antenna gain required to satisfy mission requirements. Analyzed the effects of different modulation formats in satisfying the system requirements for speed and capacity of transmission links. Served on anomaly resolution boards to find measures to fix or ameliorate failures that occurred on communication satellites. Deeply involved in preparing proposals for communication satellite projects.
Hughes Space & Communications/Boeing Space Systems, 1980 - 2000. Senior Scientist; System Engineering Laboratory for Communication Satellies and Frequency Management Dept. Radar design through integration and test.. Prepared proposals and BOE’s for prospective radar contracts. Prepared reports to be submitted to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to gain approval for the placement of communication satellites in synchronous orbital slots. My work in the Systems Engineering Laboratory was concerned with maintaining the end-to-end viability of all the signal paths involved the communication paths, the control loops for antenna position control, and the attitude control of the satellite itself.
