Was deputed to Applied Materials India Pvt. Ltd. as Design Engineer through ASM Technologies Ltd. I was working as Obsolescence Forecasting Lead. My roles and responsibilities include identifying the Obsolete parts and to find EOL (End of Life) Date for an Obsolete part from the OEM Manufacturer and to provide alternate replacement part from the same manufacturer or from a different manufacturer without any change in Form, Fit and Function.

5) Obsolescence Management

Knowledge of solving SPS’s (Supplier Problem Sheet), Writing ECO’s (Engineering Change Orders) to make the necessary changes for the part. Write ECM’s (Engineering Change Management) and ECR’s (Engineering Change Requests)

6) Vansco

We have to source Manufacturer Part Number given in a particular Manufacturer Website and has to say whether the product is RoHS compliant. If a particular product is not RoHS compliant we have to suggest an alternate Manufacturer Part Number. After sourcing the Part number we have to suggest the class into which the product falls and to fill its parameters. Say for example the Manufacturer is Texas Instruments a major manufacturer of IC’s and he has given a Part Number of IC. We have to source the particular Part Number and has to say whether it is RoHS compliant. If the part is not RoHS we have to suggest an alternate Manufacturer Part Number and has to say which type of IC it is. Eg. Analog IC, Digital IC, etc and has to fill its parameters like number of pins, operating temperature, through hole or surface mount device, etc.

7) THD

Scope of this project is to do cleansing activity as well as classification provided by the customer as well as attribute extraction. Attribute extraction is nothing but the parameters to be filled for a particular given category. Say example a Bearing which has properties like type of Bearing, No of Shields, No. of Seals, etc.

8) SDI (Strategic Distribution, Inc):

In this project, SKUs Classification has to be done based on Application. Assigning Schema’s attributes for Classified SKUs. SKUs for which class is not available in the ePlus furnished schema, must be classified to “Supplier/Unclassified”.

After Classification, Long Description should be cleansed and normalized by taking data from both input and repository. Attribute Values should be extracted from both input as well as from repository.

9) QUADRAM

It is the Spanish Language Project. In this project, Classification of products is done and suitable EGII Code is assigned with relevant UNSPSC Code of Version 11.2.

Deliver data in the following 3 buckets:

1.SKUs that can be assigned both EGII and UNSPSC.

This bucket will be taken up for VE once the client approves the

classification.

2.SKUs that can be assigned only UNSPSC, SKUs which cannot be classified to 4th level will be classified to higher levels, but no lower level categories will be suggested.

This bucket will be taken once appropriate EGII and attributes are added by ECCMA.

3.SKUs that cannot be assigned either of EGII or UNSPSC

These SKUs will be commented as “Insufficient Information” in the

comments column.

Cleansing, Normalization and Value Extraction

Generate short and long description from the extracted attribute values.

10) RIVERSAND:

Cleansing of Short Description which includes abbreviation expansion, spell check, re-phrasing short description in the order of “Series, Size, Color, Description of Material, Product, Quantity & Pack”

Long Description (Marketing Description) should be sentence case including UOMs. Word to word repetition of short description not allowed.

Attributes Value should be captured from Input description and Reference File. If Mandatory Attributes are not found they should be web sourced (For Attributes Only)

My roles and responsibilities in APA Engineering was working in Compliance Team. I used to collect the Certificate of Compliance (CoC for RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), Proposition65, Conflict Minerals (CMRT). I used to upload the Certificates to Green Check Software. Used to interact with suppliers through Skype and mail to get the relevant documents.

PROJECT TITLE : Pulse Monitoring System for High Current

Converter Systems.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION : The Objective of this project is to constantly

monitor the gate pulses which are entering all the six phase units to trigger the Thyristor present in the high current converter systems. The converters fail to conduct if a pulse is missing to fire the Thyristor of any arm of the Rectifier unit.

Hence the Pulse Monitoring System provides an indication of the missing pulse of the particular branch of the respective phase and switches off the whole Rectifier Unit, thus preventing further damages.
