Career Summary

Well-rounded professional with 17+ years’ of experience in Management and Software Technologies, played both IC and Engineering Manager role for Cloud/AWS and Monolithic products web and mobile app. Working as Software Development Manager-3 at Amazon, owned multiple products such as Cycle Planning Last Mile Tech, New Seller’s Success, Tax Compliance, SPN (Service Provider Network) PODs. Prior to Amazon, worked with Juniper Networks Inc, McAfee Inc /Intel Security, NetApp Inc, managed up to 25 to 30 headcount (Engineers and Managers) in Software Development, QA and DevOps.

Responsibilities include customer interactions, end to end feature development, working closely with product management and stakeholders for operation planning/defining roadmap, estimation and scope analysis, making project schedule, risk analysis, review and monitoring, resolving ambiguities by connecting with respective teams and stakeholders, involved in control phase and QA phases until release, reviewing and monitoring operations/on-call regular basis and act upon it post release to make sure product is up and running as expected, reporting metrics and Goal-status with leadership in MBR/QBR/Business Connect, writing proposal for new feature/initiative/tech-debt etc . Well versed with Agile-Scrum and Waterfall methodology(Jira, SIM, Confluence, VersionOne etc). Identifying & recommending optimization Service Level Agreements (SLA ) requirements while managing scope, resources & coordination; responsible for stakeholder management, people management, coaching and mentoring, hiring and career development and engagement, performance management(appraisal/talent review), providing feedback in 1:1 or in team connect, managing top and below performers, responsible for team and product level growth which are the key focus areas of my charter.

Achievements include (last 5 years): A) Amazon: 1) Launched Cycle Planning automation in JP as Pilot, which saved USD15.4 MN in 2022 and will extend the similar model to NA, EU, IN and CN which will save up to USD120 MN overall per year 2023-24 onwards with minimal effort. 2) Launched Amazon Seller Mobile App for 5 Marketplaces (out of 24 Marketplaces WW) in Q1, 2022 that has expedited the seller onboarding process and helped 70% Amazon Sellers to manage their account via mobile device as 70% sellers use mobile app currently. In 2022, it has saved the seller attrition WW from 19% to 14.5% (5000 to 3800) per week while using the seller app via mobile, which has parity with the Desktop app. 3) Launched Brand Campaign feature in Q2, 2022 for NA, EU and IN region which has reduced ~18% (5070 to 4096 per week) Seller attrition in 2022 4) Launched AMC(Account Manager Central) MVP along with 4 Global teams in Q1, 2021 to eliminate Salesforce usage for Amazon Account Managers which has saved approx. UDS 45Mn with 84 KPIs in NA, EU and JP with 30% targeted users(Account Managers) in 2022 and eventually it will increase the savings approximately 130Mn yearly across the region by Q4, 2023-24 and year over year with 250 KPIs. 5) Reduced the Marketplace (WW) expansion effort from 9 weeks to 1 week per service by creating AWS CDK template for 13 services that I owned that helped to expedite the Marketplace expansion seamless. B) Juniper Networks: Built the Development team (SDE, QA and DevOps and Managers) for SkyATP from 4 Engineers and scaled up to 25 fixed headcount along with 10 Contractors. C) McAfee: Designed, developed and launched MVP of Management Software(GUI, APIs, Database, Report, Configurations, Audit, Log Analysis) of McAfee ATD(Advanced Threat Defense) in 2013 which was a product with only few CLIs came via acquisition that met the goal of acquisition for Defense customer on time.

Worked with both cloud (AWS) and monolithic applications along with web and mobile app. Worked with several tech stack such as Java-J2ee, Python, GoLang, PHP, C# .NET, React JS, Docker, Microservice Architecture (Spring Boot) by architecting along with RDD/No-SQL DB(Mongo, Dynamo DB), S3/Alexandria, Caching (Redis cluster, Netflix Hollow DB), SQS, SNS, ELK Stack, Redis, Apache Kafka Streaming, Kubernetes, Docker interface and UI/graphical design, Identity and Access management, LDAP, Radius server, CVE analysis, UML design, capable of implementing complex code, multithreading, database, problem analysis and debugging in various domains like Retail and eCommerce platform, Information and Application Security, Storage management, Media and Digital STB etc. Works well with others; worked effectively with onsite and offshore teams.

Working as Software Development Manager (SDM-3), managed up to 23+ headcount (Engineers and Managers) across multiple Geo locations (India and US), owned highly scalable products/services in AWS (99.99% latency, 99.98% availability goals) in Last Miles and Seller Tech Org such as Cycle Planning and Auto-Sidelining of the packages, New Seller’s Success and Growth, Tax Compliance, Service Provider Network (SPN) and Account Manager Central with partnership with 4 International teams, responsible for end to end features development, engineering, stakeholders and people management, QA phases until release and operations/Oncall post release. Working on all latest AWS technologies, Java, Python, GoLang, React JS, along with web and mobile app.

Juniper Networks Inc (Oct 2016 - Nov 2018):

Worked as Software Engineering Manager (2nd line), managed 25+ headcount (and 10 contractors) along with 2 Managers for two Application Security product teams - 1) SkyATP (AWS/Cloud) team, and 2) IDP tools team that includes Development (UI and Backend), QA and DevOps, responsible for end to end feature delivery, stakeholder management, hiring people, estimation and scope analysis, making project schedule, risk analysis, review and monitoring, involved in control phase, QA phases until release and operations/Oncall post release. Previously worked for multiple products (McAfee Network User Behaviour Analysis and McAfee Firewall Control Centre).
