Respected Ma’am/Sir,

I am excited to apply for the Junior Architect/Junior Interior Designer Position at your esteemed firm. I have had a year’s worth of professional experience in both Architecture and Interiors since graduating from Pratt Institute’s Architecture program in 2022, in addition to my internships over five years of college during summer and winter breaks. I am eager to contribute my experience, skills and knowledge to your esteemed firm. Through my academic career, I have developed my design and technical abilities through a variety of studio projects and coursework. Additionally, I am skilled in using software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I have also collaborated with classmates on group projects, which helped me cultivate strong communication and teamwork skills. Beyond my academic experience, I have participated in extracurricular activities on campus, such as tutoring students at the Learning/Access Centre for software on the Pratt Campus. I have provided specialized support for disabled students and mentored one student per semester. I was also a keynote speaker at the student success seminar for four consecutive years and worked as a teaching assistant for my professor and previous employer, Jacob Beck. Since graduating in May 2022, I worked at JBA Collective in New York City and undertook freelance projects, ranging from luxury residences and restoration projects to school renovations. These experiences have broadened my understanding of architecture and its impact on society. The foundation of my knowledge has been strengthened by my internships in India at Studio Mumbai Architects by Bijoy Jain. Besides architecture and interior design I had the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects here, including competitions, furniture design, exhibitions and preparing materials for publications. I am passionate about creating thoughtful and innovative, yet simplistic designs that meet both the functional and aesthetic needs of clients. I believe that my education and experiences have prepared me well for a position in your firm. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to contribute my skills and knowledge to your team. Sincerely,

Divya Shah
