Environmental Coordinator – United States Air Force 4/2004 to 7/2011

Oversee all aspects of environmental safety, control and compliance for a team of 121 fuels personnel. Manage all environmental, safety and occupational health compliance assessment and management programs

(ESOHCAMP). Ensure team is trained to perform in compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

• Direct unit’ s compliance with environmental, safety and occupational health programs such as lock-out / tag-out (LO/TO), confined space entry surveys and use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

• Supervise the storage, disposal and transport of all hazardous materials. Ensure team is using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response equipment. Maintain MSDS postings.

• Conduct 40 to 60 monthly inspections of work in-progress and facilities to ensure all environmental laws are being followed. Travel to other bases or units to conduct ESOHCAMP inspections and identify issues.

• Conduct incident investigations, define root cause of issues of non-compliance and define tolerance levels based on research to identify source of problems and define preventative measures.

• Recommend and implement corrective actions; proactively develop, communicate and enforce policy and procedural changes to avoid EPA fines of up to $7M for non-compliance.

• Analyze trends, evaluate performance metrics and review inspection reports to identify training deficiencies, recognize policy and procedure inefficiencies and distinguish recurring issues.

• Oversee all aspects of safety and environmental training; determine training subjects, create training programs and support materials and train 100+ personnel. Track training and certifications of all staff. Distribution and Inventory Control Manager United States Air Force 4/2000 to 4/2004 Coordinated all aspects of ordering, receiving, storage, inventory control and issue of 48M+ gallons of fuel and 18K gallons of liquid oxygen in a fast-paced, high-volume and deadline-driven environment.

• Supervised and dispatched a team of 13 fuels delivery drivers. Inspected vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

• Maintained accurate records of the receipt, issue, storage and transfer of volatile, hazardous petroleum and cryogenic products. Ensured inventory database entries were completed accurately and in a timely manner.
