EXPERIENCE
Practical Truck Driving Instructor, Western Pacific Truck School, January 2022-Current Stockton, CA
The students first get their permit in a one week class. I teach Pretrip, In Cab, Tug test, Backing skills, Shifting and Driving. I teach them in 3 weeks.
I update a Student Training Report card daily. I update admin every day. I prepare a DVIR daily on every truck.
I'm not teaching them to be a truck driver. I'm teaching them to pass the DMV exam. I drive a Freightliner Cascadia 10 speed manual transmission. We have a 28' trailer. The students and I drive around Stockton.
Truck Driver, Performance Food Group, PFG, March 2020-September 2020 Livermore, CA
My start time was from Midnight-5 am. I would have to clean out a trailer of trash and pallets. I would sweep it out so I could pick up food products. I would travel to Hanford to pick up a load of cheese most days. I would bring the loaded trailer back to the warehouse and put it in a door. I used ELD for logs and DVIR's. I would turn in manifests to the office. I would make add on deliveries or emergency needs for customers. Truck Driver, Customer truck services, April 2019-February 2020 Fortuna, CA
I would pick a loaded trailer from Crystal Creamery heading to Eureka, CA. I would meet a driver coming down from Fortuna, at Calpella to exchange loads. I would take their load and deliver at a Home Depot the next day. I also could pick up a dry load for Winco in Eureka. I was responsible for paper logs and DVIR's. I also made sure manifests were correct for dropping loads and picking up lumber load.
Driver/Yard Hostler Driver, Medline/ Medtrans, March 2017-January 2019 Tracy, CA
I was a driver on a route delivering medical supplies at hospital, clinics and convalescent hospitals. I used electric pallet jacks and liftgates to make my deliveries. I used an ELD for my logs and DVIR. I made multiple deliveries. I was responsible for manifests for each delivery. I did that for 1 year.
I moved to being a yard hostler. I was responsible for putting empty trailers in dock doors. I would take the loaded trailers out and reload with empty trailers. I was responsible for placing the right trailers in the appropriate doors for specific routes. I was responsible for the inventory of all tractors and trailers.
