Cornell University’s Digital Humanities, Data Scientist(Project Leader), Ithaca, NY September 2021- September 2022
• Managed a team of 6 undergraduate students to complete a data science project about Boston crime and worked to make meaningful, data-driven insights.
• Taught underclassmen the application of Python in Data science using Python specific packages (NumPy, SciPy, PANDAS, Matplotlib, Seaborn) in Jupyter Notebook in order to dissect the dataset and interpret any discovered patterns.
• Presented and applied a Machine Learning unsupervised method to the team in order to make predictions about when or where a crime in Boston might be committed in the future based on the dataset. SiriusXM/Pandora, Data Engineer Intern, New York, NY May 2022- August 2022
• Evaluated data pipeline structure and identified ways to reconstruct it to improve its efficiency of runtime and storage.
• Programmed a new DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) structure that ran parallel to previous one, using SQL and YAML files, on AirFlow and updated old DAG dependencies in order to implement the improvements made.
• Decreased the cost of running the DAG structure from $150/day to 80 cents/day after new DAG was applied.
• Exhibited new pipeline and DAG structure using Google Slides to the marketing engineering and analytics teams, which consisted of executive members and team leads.
Cornell University’s Data Mining and Machine Learning, Data Analyst, Ithaca, NY November 2021- December 2021
• Cooperated with team of 5 to develop a strong regression model for the predictor and response variables using RStudio for a dataset about wines in order to assess the quality of the different wines.
• Implemented best subset selection, forward selection, and backwards selection on each predictor in order to evaluate which would best fit on the regression model.
• Examined lasso and ridge regression results with team members, and concluded that lower variance and higher bias performed better on our data in predicting the factors which are most important for wine quality. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp, Udemy (remote) July 2023- Present
• Utilize Python for data science as the primary programming language for implementing a variety of algorithms and data analysis projects.
• Analyze data using essential libraries and frameworks including NumPy and Pandas for data manipulation, Matplotlib and Seaborn through creating informative visualizations, and Plotly for crafting interactive dynamic plots.
• Implement Big Data analysis using Spark, and leverage K-Means Clustering, along with Natural Language Processing techniques for projects such as building spam filters. LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
The Reclamation Project, Supervisor, Jamaica, NY February 2021- May 2023
• Directed a chapter of a nonprofit organization that works to provide children of all backgrounds within Jamaica, NY with educational workshops regarding social issues.
• Facilitated programs to connect over 50 kids in underfunded schools and expose them to resources and expand their opportunities to decrease educational inequalities. Cornell University’s Intro Design and Programming for the Web, Teaching Assistant, Ithaca, NY January 2022- May 2022
• Supervised a section of 25 students and instructed them on how to produce syntactically and structurally proper HTML, JavaScript, and CSS code.
• Debugged students’ code in order to provide critical troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance which enhanced their coding skills and understanding of the programming concepts.
