My name is Carla Byrd. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am seeking a career that will allow me to utilize my educational skills and work experience. I am well experienced in management leadership, a good listener, customer service/sales, training, human resources, customer prospecting, being able to work in a high liability environment, multitasking, maintaining integrity at challenging times and staying focused on my daily goals.

I seek perfection in whatever I do, for the simple fact that it is a reflection of myself and who I represent. Time management is very important to me. I can work with a group of people, independently, I do not require direct supervision after being properly trained. Whatever I put my hands to do, I make sure that I have exhausted all avenues until it has been perfected. I enjoy training and helping people who need assistance in areas that they lack in to strengthen their weaknesses. Confidentiality and customer service are extremely important to me. It’s pertinent to be conscious of others by how they are treated, being a good listener, and following through on their needs and complaints until the issue(s) is resolved. I have received many customer rewards while working in retail sales, maintained #1 status as a store trainer/human resource assistant at Sears out of 26 stores that were in the district. I exceeded expectations as a Correctional Law Enforcement Officer during my employment with the Florida Department of Corrections. After graduating with my certificate of diploma in Private Investigations Certificate I obtained my 215 insurance license, I really enjoy connecting and educating the community. To see the opportunities to make a difference in ones lives gave me a drive to focus more on helping those in the field. Later on, I became an independent agent due to the limitations that were on me as a captive agent with only one carrier to work with. The timing was perfect, especially with ACA healthcare.gov enrollment beginning the latter part of 2013. Heritage Wealth Management opened up many opportunities for me even to becoming an Assistant Sales Manager to help train new agents and engage in events. I was able to enhance my skills in financial planning, while still working with life insurance. Heritage Wealth Management allowed me to enhance these skills, assist, and train new agents in the field. We recognized the need for the over 65 and under 65 market. I was appointed with multiple companies, assisting other agents throughout the state of Florida with corporate benefits enrollments for Colonial Life, and going to events to help the community enroll in health insurance thru the healthcare.gov marketplace. I was amazed at the percentage of clients in the community and small businesses who didn’t have health care, and to see them have coverage was a great accomplishment and peace of mind knowing I could help them. Sales are very important, but educating the community and one on one with your client is so important. This creates an awareness of why it is important to have healthcare coverage and the benefits of having it. I have had the opportunity to work out in the field, in the office, and at home with inbound/outbound calling.

I am well equipped to offer professionalism, integrity, ethics, customer service, care, and training. I don’t know everything, but I am always apt to increase my skills, which will allow me to excel above and beyond expectations.
