Description : Standard Chartered is a bank which acts as a custodian between customer and depository. To match and settle the trade we use TCS BANCS application as a custodian, to communicate with the depository we use SWIFT messages to do trade settlements. CTOOL is a tool used to convert the messages from MX to MT (SWIFT) and vice versa. Some of the customers to the bank are sending their request in the format of MX, but TCS BANCS application won’t support MX it only support MT message format, so to convert from MX to MT we use CTOOL.
