I am a certified English teacher with a TEFL Certificate and more than three years teaching experience. I have been working with students both in primary and secondary departments within a Bilingual academy in the North of Madrid. I graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a degree in Sports Journalism, as well as Masters Certificate in International Journalism. During my four years in the United Kingdom I worked as an intern for various newspaper agencies around the Bedfordshire region, covering sports articles in both print and online versions.

Moreover, I was able to consequently cover the local rugby team throughout the 2014/ 2015 season in all areas of reporting. Due to this experience, I feel that I am well suited to working as a foreign languages expert. I am confident teaching both 121 classes and groups. Furthermore, I am:

Bilingual in terms of being able to speak English, Kiswahili and basic Spanish.

Able to write news stories and also create reading material for effective learning.

Editing radio programs and conducting a radio show.

Teaching Experience

2014 September - June 2015 Luton Rugby Football Club, Luton UK

Position: Reporter, writer and translator.

Activities

Meeting and interviewing players, coaching staff and fans.

Providing fans with latest happenings with regards to team news such as injuries, player ins and outs and news on opponents the team face.

Writing match reports, reviews and feature articles for online and newspapers.

Interpreting for semi-pro players with basic level of English on tactics and team plays.

Majority of the players were between the ages of 21-34, whilst the fans were anywhere between 18-68 years.

TEFL QUALIFIED ENGLISH Assistant (September 2017- Currently on-going)

I am currently an English assistant at a private academy in the North of Madrid, and I work full-time (25 Hours) teaching and communicating with the students in every class I teach.

Part of my Job description entails creating monthly examinations and I am also trained in making Cambridge Speaking and Listening exams, for which I was able to do so this past academic year.

Summer Camp monitor and English trainee (June 2017- August 2017)

During this period, I was contracted to work with the GMR Camps which is a Madrid-based company with their camps located in the city of Leon. During my time there, I taught 2 hour classes daily and helped the children (aged between 11-14 years) in practicing as much English as possible through engaging in various activities such as dancing, singing, English classes, organized treks and other outdoor activities.

TEFL Trainee (Group class) March 01 2017- March 30th 2017

Worked with a group of about 5 students, offering supplemental support in English through verbal practice and writing; where I prepared fun and dynamic materials for 50 minute sessions. Students were aged between 22-56 years and all were locally based.

Worked within a radio studio, producing a range of programs for radio broadcasting, including hosting my own radio show. Announced breaking news.

Interviews across Luton town, and since I am studying to become a journalist, with various sports personalities.
