Pick up the van bag at the lot from dispatch, complete the DVIC and van inspection, then drive to the station. The station is where the packages for the day are picked up and scanned into the device for loading and delivery. Packages are a combination of bags, envelopes, and boxes. Small boxes, bags, and envelopes are combined into totes and bigger boxes are overflow and loaded in the van separately. Routes are typically 180-200 stops leading to 300+ locations as some stops are grouped and anywhere from 300-400 packages. During the route the packages are scanned and marked for delivery to each location. After the route is complete dispatch is contacted to either come back to the station to bring back damaged or cancelled items or be sent to another driver as a "rescue" to help them complw their route. A post route inspection is done when parking the van for the night.
