NYC School Construction Authority, New York, NY — Project Officer - Level II (Safety Officer)

July 2009 – July 2017

Duties include performing Safety Inspections of Multiple School Projects located in the five boroughs. Monitor contractor’s compliance with the OSHA NYC Department of Building Regulations and all other applicable Federal OSHA regulations. Conduct accidents investigation, report findings and recommendations directly to the safety Director and the Unit, Authorize to issue and rescind Stop Work Order for contractors that are unwilling to comply with the applicable regulations, review and approved Site Safety Plans, inspect mobile cranes at the site Supervise safety officers, resolve field issues, and inspect Asbestos projects to assure worker safety inside containment areas. Adjust schedules and communicate with Construction Management to address special situations. Conduct and participate in safety training. Duties included performing Safety Inspections of multiple school projects located in the five boroughs. Abax Incorporated, New York, NY — Environmental/ General Superintendent

1998 - 2008

Responsibilities include all aspects of overseeing Abax Inc. Environmental Abatement projects (significantly - Asbestos & Lead) since 1998. Projects have rangers in costs up to $12,000,000 a year. Involved in all projects tasks from inception (estimating, contract, submittals, coordination, filings, scheduling, and requisitions) to completion and contract close out. Managed multiple abatement teams of Supervisors and Foreman oversaw all project operations including scheduling and coordination from labor (crew sizes up to 50 abatement workers) to material and equipment deliveries.

Additional responsibilities include Abax Inc. General Contracting Site Superintendent which included: Safety submission and approvals on through implementation on project-to-project completion, maintain record of site inspections, corrections of deficiencies if needed, personally performed site inspections, personally performed walk through with owners site safety inspector, ensure proper documentation on site, and strict adherence of Safety Code by all personnel on the job site. Being bilingual allows me to converse to the Latino workforce which comprises a large portion of today’s construction workers.
