Job Description/Responsibilities :

Assess patients and identify appropriate nursing interventions in Maternal Intensive Care unit

Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and families.

Promote patient's independence by establishing patient care goals, counselling patient and family to understand condition, medications, self-care skills and maternity health: answering questions.

Perform active/passive exercise according to the need of the patient. Ensure comfort to mothers and babies while executing maternity nurse functions.

Administer medications and treatment to patient according to the prescription Gynecologist and establish policies and protocols.

Conduct and manage safe delivery and do episiotomy if needed.

Maintain the record of patient's treatment, care and prognosis.

Conduct round and carry out the doctor's instruction and assist in diagnostic procedures. Assist and support Gynecologists or consulting physician in treating patients.

Give medicines, injection and carries out the instruction and assist in diagnostic procedures. Assist and support Gynecologists or consulting physician in treating patients.

Give medicines, injection and carries out the procedures transfusion, I.V. Infusion and catheterization, perineal care, episiotomy care and tube feeding etc.

Handover and takeover of patient and provide routine care corresponding to the shift of duty.

Collect and send laboratory investigation, sending patient chart for refer consultation.

Maintain and monitor the patient's record sheet and report to the HoD if required.

Support and instruct baby care procedures to ward staffs.

Manage pre/post operative care of patients.

Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipments.

Take responsibility of admission and discharge of the patients.

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.

Working as a ward co-coordinator in hospital waste disposal management.

Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
