Resume:

August *, ****

Dear Sonography Team Hiring Manager,

I am seeking a Sonography position that enables me to continue developing as a young professional.

My experience as a student, combined with my eagerness as an emerging sonographer provides a fresh and comprehensive set of skills that I believe will be valuable to your organization. My time as a Student Intern within both an acute care hospital and outpatient clinical setting have allowed me to hone my abilities in patient safety and diagnostic imaging, providing a firm foundation in obstetrics, gynecology, abdomen, and small parts for the Sonographer position. In addition, my ability to consistently maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the entirety of my program, while working as a private childcare worker for multiple families, represents my dedication to my education and desire to become a strong and skilled sonographer in the field. My previous experience working with children and families allows me to bring a unique passion for the care, empathy, and utmost respect for patients, including pediatrics. The time that I was able to commit to my education has been invaluable to my professional growth, and I am keen to enter the professional sphere.

As a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program in May of 2022, I was very eager to continue building on my experiences here in Canada. Unfortunately, due to the backlogs caused by COVID, my permanent residency paperwork took longer than anticipated to process. While I was physically present here in Alberta, it was only recently that my immigration documentation was approved, allowing me to begin looking for employment in the sonography field. While I was unable to work, I have been diligent in keeping up with my knowledge of anatomy and protocols. During this pause, I completed my Obstetrics and Gynecology certification, which is in addition to the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) with ARDMS, and I will be sitting for the Abdomen and Small Parts examination in August.

My long-term goal is to become registered in additional ARDMS specialties such as vascular and breast, as well as adding the Sonography Canada credentials, of which my application is currently in progress through the Alternate Pathways route. In the interim, I currently hold an Active Membership as well as Personal Liability insurance through Sonography Canada. I have also been in contact with The Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists about eventual regulation in the field, for which they have said that there will be a grandfathering of ARDMS credentials once I have reached the 800-hour mark here in Alberta.

Please review my attached resume for a more in-depth illustration of my work history and accomplishments. I would appreciate the opportunity to interview at your earliest convenience. I am eager to discuss how my personality and background fit the Sonographer role.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my candidacy.
