• Lead engineer for OEM Tape engineering group. Responsible for resource allocation, project test schedules, Test Case and Test Plan development.
• Qualification and engineering support for LTO (Linear Tape Open) Generation 6 through 9. Sun Microsystems, Inc. Broomfield, CO October 2003 – February 2009 Senior Hardware Engineer
• Authored the Qualification Test Requirements for Sun tape libraries and drives document. This is the first time the Data Protection Engineering group had a standardized process for qualification of 3rd party tape libraries and drives.
• Development of a qualification CD for all 3rd party suppliers that includes Qualification Requirements documentation, test scripts, test utilities and st & FC drivers & OS patches. This CD has enhanced the communications between Sun and all 3rd party suppliers.
• Generated standard test plan and report template for all project engineers. Previously each project engineer would develop their own test plan.
• Managed the qualification of six tape library and four drive vendors.
• Qualification of 3rd party tape libraries and drives including test plans and reports; audit of 3rd party testing and documentation; testing with all applicable OS’s and DPE test scripts.
• Responsible for maintenance of the DPE lab and support of two remote engineers. Maintained ten servers, eight workstations, fourteen libraries and five autoloaders.
• Configured and maintained Sun servers for engineering test beds, including installation and administration of all major Solaris releases since Solaris 2.6
