• Freight processing: Unloading, sorting, and stocking the weekly shipment of storewide products in a neat and timely manner. With boxes of products weighing up to 40lbs, and not to mentions the constant pulling and pushing of uboats with the stacked freight could weigh any where between 250 to about 350lbs. From as early as 9:00am to as late as 5:00pm.
• Store maintenance and Recovery: Recovering was the staff word for maintenance. Which involved going aisle to aisle facing every shelved product, picking up any trash on the floor or the shelves, grabbing any out of place product and eventually put it back im it’s rightful home, and also watching for any potential thieves and sweeping and mopping the store upon closing.
• Cashiering: Greeting every customer that enters the establishment in a polite and professional manner. Answering any questions about a particular product a customer is looking for and taking the time and having the patience as everyone ( especially older customers) might need additional instructions on pin pointed their targeted item. Friendly and welcoming interaction with every customer at checkout and providing professional insight or recommendations for the customer’s preferences; whether they want a cheaper alternative than a name brand product, to which I would recommend the store brand, or if they were looking for something of top notch quality I would direct them to the appropriate aisle.
