Employed as a forklift operator, a load puller, and finally, the Lumber and Building Materials Department Supervisor. Responsible to select, palletize, secure, and load daily shipments to commercial and residential accounts. Materials routinely handled include lumber, cement, sand, gravel, flooring supplies, insulation, drywall, mulch, fertilizer, decorative pavers and stones, soil, sod, fertilizer, lawn tractors, and generators. Assist with daily inventory cycle counts, and also unload incoming freight using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and the forklift. As department supervisor, I am responsible for cycle count accuracy, employee shift scheduling, daily departmental safety report completion, and proper stock quantities. Employed (in order) as a personal lines customer service representative, personal lines manager, small commercial manager, and claims manager. Was responsible to sell and service policies, advise the insurance provider of customer-approved changes, and keep the policy holder informed of what their policy specifically covered, or did not cover. Supervised a department of three service representatives. As claims manager, was responsible to promptly and accurately report losses to the insurance carrier, making sure that the carrier acknowledged the loss, and that they were in direct contact with our policy holder to begin the settlement process. Coordinated contact between the carrier claim adjuster and the policy holder to ensure that the claim settlement was promptly and fairly adjudicated, as per the specific terms of the policy in question. Kept spreadsheets on several major agency accounts to track claim reports and resolutions over longer periods of time.
