PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

IQVIA Plymouth Meeting, PA 2002 – 2023

Associate Director Production Support

Developed and led a team of IMS Health employees (before IMS Health merged with Quintiles to become IQVIA) to improve the company’s capacity to process multiple sources of information for healthcare professionals and outlets by creating the company’s first ODS for Marketplace Intelligence (MII). Real-time updates and matching were performed using X-IPC or Oracle AQ with MatchWare and Oracle. Windows, UNIX and mainframe platforms were used.

Participated in a team of developers and production support on transitioning all scheduled production jobs from AutoSys, SQL Server Agent and UCC-7 to Cybermation ESP events, and establishing Cybermation ESP resources for managing availability of servers or hosts.

Evaluated the capabilities of AbInitio as a suitable replacement for Informatica PowerCenter. The transition from Informatica PowerCenter to AbInitio was done concurrently with the transition from AutoSys to Cybermation ESP. AbInitio was a more efficient tool and provide simpler access to metadata. Windows, UNIX and mainframe platforms were used.

Trained and worked with a new operations team to transition the ODS to a new data center using Windows, SQLserver and SSIS. This was the start of the company’s transition from Marketplace Intelligence to Healthcare Relational Sphere (HCRS). SSIS developers were taught to interpret AbInitio graphs and locate metadata. Windows and UNIX platforms were used.

Developed and led a team to create a new DWH for aggregating information from the ODS and other data sources within IQVIA then distribute the daily snapshots to multiple data marts. Windows, UNIX and mainframe platforms were used.

Designed and created a generic dynamic Cybermation schedule to replace explicitly coding jobs and job dependencies by using job metadata stored in an Oracle table. This greatly eliminated errors in HCRS development and greatly reduced the need for developers to understand Cybermation ESP. Windows, UNIX and mainframe platforms were used.

Developed and led a team working at two locations to create a new Prescriber Validation Service using Windows SSIS, SQLserver and Cybermation ESP. The new daily process replaced an old weekly process. Windows and mainframe platforms were used.

Participated in Universal Data Acquisition project by designing and implementing processes for collecting prescription data and matching it to professionals and outlets. The results produced by both Universal Data Acquisition and Prescriber Universe are used to create syndicated and custom reports that make up about 80% of IQVIA revenue.

Designed and created a new Prescriber Universe interface to the DWH using HP-UX, Oracle, Hadoop, AbInito and Cybermation ESP. The new 3 hours process replaced an old monthly process. It runs daily supplying professionals and outlet demographic information to the data factory for creating syndicated and custom reports for clients. Windows, UNIX and mainframe platforms were used.

Held role as liaison between production support and both development and business. As a Subject Matter Expert, I assisted production support with locating business rules embedded in applications distributed across mainframe, Windows and UNIX and assessing their interaction.

Supported server migrations for Windows and UNIX platforms. This involved modifying or redesigning parts of applications that used third party software no longer supported on the new server or adjusting to slightly different behavior of the third-party software on the new server.
