As a HIM Specialist I had various duties to complete. Daily hospital runs to pick-up medical records to be processed. Then all documents must be prepped by verify same patient and have at least 2, two, identifiers on each page of record. Scanning and uploading to complete this process. EMS and Pathology records are printed and processed daily. HIM is also responsible for completing Birth Certificates and requesting Social Security card for every in-house birth.
I am familiar with with EMR programs. During my employment they had a hospital wide transfer from One-Chart to EPIC.

Responsibilities
