This consisted of architecting Domino on multiple operating systems (SUN Solaris, AIX, VMWare ESX, SUSE Linux and W32). As the operating systems and the software matured the servers were consolidated. Chrysler took of advantage of using SUN Domains to run multiple partitions of Lotus Domino Mail Servers within a single host. Additionally, we took that concept and leveraged Linux to consolidate the Domino Application Servers to fewer host to. At one point in Chrysler’s history, we had over 150 physical hosts supporting 50K users for just email. Today, Chrysler is using 7 physical hosts supporting 50K users.
