•Worked alongside most experienced and highly skilled world class CT surgeons as a surgical clinician, first and second assisting in largest surgical program in the country covering virtually every type of cardiac surgery including elective or emergency surgery for heart valve disease, aortic aneurysm, coronary artery disease, MAZE w/ LAA ligation, heart failure, Marfan syndrome and other less common conditions, including as heart/lung transplants. I performed in the first and second assist role alongside the surgeon and/or fellow/senior resident in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. Within the role, I first assisted in various duties during the surgical procedure such as coronary anastomosis, endoscopic vein harvesting (completed 40 proctored endo vein harvesting cases), suturing, wound care etc. A review of the perioperative data and imaging for each case with Staff surgeons was completed in this role.
