4) Develop comprehensive plans for immediate and long-term rehabilitation including therapeutic exercise, speech occupational therapy, counseling, cognitive retraining, patient, family or caregiver education, or community reintegration. 5) Prescribe physical therapy to relax the muscles, improve strength and increase mobility
6) Coordinate physical medicine rehabilitation services with other medical activities.
7) Consult or coordinate with other rehabilitative professionals including physical occupational therapists, rehabilitation nurses, speech pathologists, neuropsychologists, behavioral psychologists, social workers, or medical technicians.
8) Perform electrodiagnosis including electromyography, nerve conduction studies, or somatosensory evoked potentials of neuromuscular disorders or damage after a complete neurological examination.
9) Prescribe therapy services, like electrotherapy, ultrasonography, heat or cold therapy, hydrotherapy, debridement, short-wave or microwave diathermy, and infrared or ultraviolet radiation, to enhance rehabilitation. 10) Prescribe orthotic and prosthetic applications and adaptive equipment, like wheelchairs, bracing, and communication devices, to maximize patient function and self-sufficiency.
11) Provide inpatient or outpatient medical and physical management inpatient and outpatient and prescribe rehabilitation programs (neurorehabilitation, pediatrics rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, post and pre-operative rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and rheumatological rehabilitation)
