The Program Manager is the owner of the program schedule and must work with each of the multi-functional areas to ensure the product is introduced on time.

Responsible for ensuring that programs and projects managed directly or within the team meet established schedules, cost targets, and contractual objectives by effectively managing resources, team dynamics, and change control processes while providing contingency plans and problem resolutions as required.

Develop a clear understanding of the project scope and project deliverables outlined in requirements documents and provided by project stakeholders. Ensure that the Product Specification meets these requirements and all other binding or non-binding contractual obligations.

Managed central quality lab for supporting manufacture and quality daily issues including QMS, CPK, gage R&R, calibration, equipment cost and measurements of glass properties for 13 plants.

Advanced ability to work simultaneously on multitasks including interacting with customer for application requirements, glass packaging specifications, manufacture processes, analyzing process statistical data and studying the mechanical structure (stress, deflection, force, temperature) of glass packaging and mold equipment by FEA for managing the risk of new products.

Directed and facilitated the testing of new products, including establishing test protocols specified by national/ international standards and regulatory requirements, to verify product reliability.

Product Development / FEA Engineer July 1999 – August 2006

Worked on new product development including applying material properties, designing new product with composite structure, optimizing design by FEA, making prototype and experimenting product samples in house through a series of tests like, pressing test, spall test, corrosion test, fatigue test and etc.

Conducted 500+ FEA projects on designs of Ladle shroud, sub-entry nozzle / shroud, slide gate system, slide gates, glass roller, foundries based on different refractory materials Alumina, Silica, Zirconia etc. and their applications.

Performed mixing, ISO static pressing, curing, firing and measuring physical, mechanical and chemical properties like density, porosity, Young’s modulus, hot/cold MOR, cold crushing, XRF / XRD, permeability, corrosion, heat conductivity and etc.

Led a project for optimizing molten steel flow in Tundish sub-entry shroud by increasing the life of the product 30% including carrying out the water flow testing by PIV technology, studying the flow pattern in the sub-entry shroud at molten steel condition by CFD /Fluent/ NUMACA and optimizing the bore shape of the shroud.

Investigated the nonlinear thermo-mechanical behavior of refractory materials through collaborating with Oak Ridge National lab to study the uni-axial stress-strain relationship up to 1200 C for carbon based refractory material and developed nonlinear thermo-mechanical model with the Aberdeen University.

Provided technical service support to manufacturing plant and customer including analyzing the failed samples through fracture diagnosis, identifying the root cause, implementing corrective action, participating the meeting with the customer regarding quality improvement of the product.

Developed a low-cost ladle shroud with an annual savings of $400K by replacing the expensive lining with an oxidation lining through firing process and optimizing the thickness of the oxidation liner of a ladle shroud for cold start application.

Investigated the sintering behavior of Zirconia material at high temperature fire by ABAQUS.

Studied ISO-static pressing between the PVC plastic bag and the ceramic granular powder through ABAQUS.
