Title: Senior Engineer - Avionics Reliability/Maintainability Performed the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis on the F/A-18 Deployable Flight Incident Recorder Set and the Flight Incident Recorders and Monitors Set. Performed numerous Reliability Stress Analysis and Predictions. Led team to solve the surface mount solder joint fatigue failure revealed in Reliability Development Test. The team included Navy, McDonnell Douglas, and supplier personnel from various locations across the country. Also designed the special solder fatigue test to prove corrective action. The problems were solved and the life of the solder joints greatly exceeded expectations. This method for solder joints is used throughout the electronics industry now. Coordinated and lead team to put together the quarterly F/A-18 Acceptance Test Summary Report for the Navy.
