Assistant Chief Engineer / Surface Warfare Officer Jacksonville, FL

● Lead an Engineering team of 17 on a ship, to ensure the propulsion, power, and associated shipboard equipment are available to get the ship moving.

● Direct supervisor to the Commanding Officer, and the ultimate decision maker for the activities of a $360M Warship.

● Generated 100+ Casualty Reports for vital engineering components. A legal document that represents all the ships critical systems that fail but are needed to operate to get the ship moving. This is translated to personnel off the ship not familiar with the engineering equipment.

● Maintained and recorded all ships movements and processes as an assistant supervisor.

● Facilitated the daily morning meeting, explaining to the team the expectations that were required for the workday.

● Communicated with contractors routinely on the engineering equipment while the ship was going through a major maintenance modification project.

● Managed the Engineering team for the ship's 3rd deployment, working through complex and technical issues while sustaining 97% of operational availability. The highest among our class of ships ever.

● Created a 4-month program to lead an entire group of 50+ Individuals in obtaining a 100% pass rate for the Navy Physical Fitness Test. The first time in over 4 years.

● The ship's financial auditor and coordinated morale events.

● Consistently trained individuals and teams as the Assistant Training Officer on multiple different skills needed to operate on a ship.

I offer years of U.S. Navy Officer experience as an Engineering Manager, a mentor, a motivator, with avid communications skills. I have good knowledge and experience of Electrical, Propulsion, internal systems, external systems, water purification, hydraulics, etc. Not to mention my leadership experience of leading 1/3rd of the entire ship operations effectively, as well as a trusted individual from senior leadership to make the overall decisions to get the mission complete while the ship was underway. In addition, I am a self-starter, fast learner, very thorough, and a results-driven professional who strives for and produces nothing shy of excellence.
