*Obtained proficiency with general radiography and mammography.
*Expertise in DICOM and Picture-Archiving and Communication System
(PACS).
*Served a diverse caseload including newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.
*Ability to collaborate and communicate with physicians, patients and staff.
*Detail oriented and able to multitask.
Radiography Essential Functions:
*Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to the dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
*Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
*Manipulate the Computed Radiography system to produce and print radiographic images.
*Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
*Ensure radiologic equipment remains working in order. Report equipment malfunction to Practice Manager or supervisor.
*Assist Radiologist in reading radiographic images.
*Maintain adequate radiologic supplies.
*Perform all other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
*Greets patients by confirming patient identification; reviewing image request; checking for special instructions; confirming anticipated service with patients.
*Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxities; providing explanations of imaging procedures; explaining equipment: answering question, conducts interview for patient medical history.
*Conducts mammography study by positioning breasts; adjusting compression mechanisms; instructing patient to stay still; retreating to lead protected area; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; activating equipment to take image; releasing compression mechanisms; preparing for next positioning and view.
*Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
*Maintains production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures; developing mammograms; observing mammogram results; determining necessary adjustments for optimum results; retaking mammograms as required; forwarding completed studies to radiologist for interpretation.
*Ensures operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance; instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
*Keeps mammography supplies and patient drapes ready.
*Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standard procedure.
*Documents patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.
