Project Name:

“In Vitro Characterization of Staphylococcus aureus biofilms and Identification of FnbA gene its involvement in biofilm formation”. Description :

In this study in vitro Biofilm Units were estimated in LB and BHI broth for S. aureus.

Chromosomal DNA from S. aureus ATCC12600 strain was isolated and primers were designed from FnbA gene sequence reported in genome sequence of S. aureus.

The gene for FnbA was amplified from Staphylococcus aureus ATCC12600 by PCR

(polymerase chain reaction) using primers designed from the FnbA gene sequence reported in the database. 2.9 Kb PCR products (FnbA gene).

The amplified PCR product was sequenced by dye terminating method at eurofins and the BLAST search revealed that the sequenced product is homologous to FnbA genes reported in the data base.
