Parametric Resonances in Mathieu And Nonlinear Schrodinger Equations July 2010 – April 2011 / Center for Nonlinear Dynamics, School of Physics Bharathidasan University

Project Abstract

The final year individual project entitled “Parametric Resonances in Mathieu And Nonlinear Schrodinger Equations” which studies the stability of parametrically excited Mathieu and Nonlinear Mathieu Equations analytically. Also the evolution of width of wave packet which is closely related to solutions of the Hill equations was analytically studied and also numerically verified in Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation. The results are that they all produce periodic solutions.
