As the owner/operator of Thornton Properties I contracted with property owners to lease their residences or second homes. Upon doing this I would market their property to the demographic most likely to get them the highest rent possible, in the quickest time with the least amount of problems to them. I would vet all potential leassees and lease the properties to only qualified applicants. I used the same diligence as I have for my own properties. (42 out of 153) I sold the company to my former husband in August of 1999.

As the Owner/Manager, I maintained the third—class, bulk rate part of the business as a Monday - Friday mail pick-up route. This enabled the businesses in Guntersville, Albertville, Arab, and in between to send their mail through our daily third-class mail. On their own, they didn't qualify. We did. That saved them 2-3.5 cents per piece of mail going out. We made a similar profit. I also set up a storefront where anyone could drop off a package and have it packed gift wrapped and shipped to anywhere in the world.
