Developed a Hot Cutover/Cold Cutover plan from Provox DCS to DeltaV DCS for the mMDI unit based on Plant graphics
Updated the Instrument Database for the mMDI unit
Senior Engineer- DuPont INVISTA-PTMEG, LaPorte TX 2001-2004
Responsible for all IC&E Projects in the PTMEG Area. Assisted Maintenance and Operations 24/7 on all PTMEG IC&E issues. Used the Honeywell TDC3000 & TPS system to configure all Advance Control Strategy.
Senior Engineer-DuPont Vinyl Acetate Unit, LaPorte TX 1994-2001
Project Manager for the Vinyl Acetate Process Control Modernization Project.
oLed the Project team in the cost/benefit analysis. This $5.0M project had a $2.0 M benefit. The project converted over 150 control loops, 150 interlocks and 400 alarms from panelboard to the Fisher Provox DCS system. The project was phased in over several years.
oLed the Project team in determining the best DCS system for the Unit. We decided to use Fisher Provox DCS system and Vantage Historian.
oLed the Project team in determining the best safety interlock system for the unit. A redundant Allen Bradley PLC system was used for safety interlocks.
oLed the Project team in the Staging and factory acceptance of the DCS at the vendor’s facility
oUsed Graphic, Alarm management, and Control loop standardization developed on the Selar OH project
oUsed the software change request, loop check procedures, Process and Safety interlock checkout procedure developed on the Selar OH Project. Work with Operations personnel on updating the operating procedures for the DCS changes.
oSupported the Project Process Hazard Review for all the DCS & IC&E changes.
Senior Engineer-DuPont Selar OH Unit, LaPorte TX 1987-1994
DCS Project Manager for the Selar OH Grassroot Project.
oLed the DCS implementation portion of the project. The DCS, IC&E portion of the project was $10M. The project implemented over 300 control loops, 100 interlocks and 500 alarms on the Fisher Provox DCS system and Vantage Historian system.
oSupervised the work of 4 contractors, 2 I&E mechanics, 3 operators and 2 engineers.
oLed the Project team in the Staging and factory acceptance of the DCS at the vendor’s facility
oLed the Project team in Graphic, Alarm management, and Control loop standardization
oLed the Project team in developing the software change request, loop check procedures, Process and Safety interlock checkout procedure. Work with Operations personnel on updating the operating procedures for the DCS changes.
oSupported the Project Process Hazard Review for all the DCS & IC&E changes.
oInstall a DCS training system separate from the DCS operating system and installed a simulation program on it to assist in training of operators, mechanics and engineers and to assist in the DCS checkout.
oLed Area Analyzer Application Team. Coodinated activity for development of new analyzers, and formalized maintenance support of existing analyzers.
oWas the DuPont DCS Liaison with Noltex LLC when DuPont sold Selar OH to them.
