• Receive notification from reception officer of inmates name, Nysid number, book and case number, location and visitor’s name via telephone or computer.
• Notify the appropriate housing area officer by telephone that the inmate has a visit.
• Once inmate is retrieved from their housing area they are escorted to the designated inmate clothing exchange room.
• Inmates are given an institutional jumpsuit and slippers they place their personal clothing into a numbered bucket. They clip their Id’s to the bucket and are told their number. These items shall be retrieved at the conclusion of their visit via the number and verification of their Id.

• Supervise up to 100 inmates in a dorm setting maintaining 100% accountability and enforcing the institutional policies and procedures of the detention center.
• Conduct inmate pedigree, escorts and lock-downs.
• Perform inspection of inmate living quarters, random searches of cells, common areas and inmates, searching for contraband.
• Perform tour of areas to maintain order and prevent escapes.
• Respond to inmate fights and requests for staff assistance.
• Escort inmates to medical facilities, as needed.
