Rehabilitation Admissions Nurse and Marketing Liaison, WakeMed Hospital

January 2016 to March 2023: As a Rehab Admissions Nurse an evaluation is completed by reviewing medical records and evaluating patients for appropriateness of admission. These assessments are also completed according to the guidelines set forth by a payor source. Patients must meet criteria based on the ability to participate and have a qualifying diagnosis such as stroke, amputation, brain or spinal cord injuries. Once a patient has been found appropriate for AIR level of care contact is made with the payor source and authorization is requested. Once obtained the admissions nurse meets with patients and families and provides them with detailed information and education regarding the AIR. Daily interaction with physicians, patients, families, payor sources and the community are the roles of the admissions nurse/liaison.

July 2014 to December 2015: Assessed the medical, vocational, financial and behavioral needs of referred injured workers.
