Conducted a three-year investigation as first author on: “Limited Diversity in the Major Histocompatibility Complex Class II Loci of Syrian Hamster DNA” J of Laboratory Animal Science, December, 1996

Devised and conducted immunological investigations involving protein, nucleic acid and histological techniques:

Protein Analysis:

Immunoprecipitation, antigen/antibody detection, immunofluorescence, fluorescent antibody flow cytometry, chloramphenicol acetyl transferase, saponin pemeabilization, western blot.

Histological techniques including: maintaining many populations of immortalized cell lines and extraction of RNA, DNA and proteins.

Animal work: performed surgery on mice and hamsters to remove organs and subsequently extract nucleic acid and protein samples for investigative purposes.

DNA and RNA analysis: Southern and Northern Hybridizations, in-situs of cross cut brain sections, cloning, transformation, transfection, including: electroporation, microinjection, and Calcium Chloride precipitation, Proficient in various DNA and protein analysis software for analytical purposes.
