TEACHER ASSISTANT, PNM POWER CAMP AT MANZANO HIGH SCHOOL
My responsibilities included assisting science and math teachers with lesson plans, preparing for classroom instruction, greeting students and parents, assisting students with a wide variety of activities, including laboratory work. I taught students about various topics, including how to use scientific tools.

IMPORT & EXPORT STAFF, BLR SUPPLY
In this position, I assisted customers, answered questions, created purchase orders, produced quotes, received and processed incoming shipments of products, prepared and shipped orders, worked closely with my fellow employees to ensure the success of the company, and cleaned any spills from shipments.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE, VECTOR MARKETING
My responsibilities included running product demonstrations of Cutco products to a wide range of potential clients. I taught people about their cutlery, placed orders, and filed all associated paperwork.

As a busser, I kept the dining areas and drink stations sanitary based on given standards. I was also the head trainer for all bussers and trained all busser trainees to follow the standards set forth by Darden INC. As a To-Go Specialist, I ensured all foods, utensils, etc. were bagged properly and sanitary, ran the bags out to guests, used a computer for all transactions, and placed orders via in-person or over-the-phone. I was even trained to work in the kitchen.

ONLINE SALES (BOPUIS), LOWE’S HOME IMPROVEMENT
My responsibilities included working with my team to pull and stage orders for online and in-store customers, processed payments, worked curbside to deliver orders, and ensured customers were satisfied. I assisted the customer service team with returns, as well as helped customers in-store.

HEAD CASHIER, LOWE’S HOME IMPROVEMENT
As a head cashier, I assisted with processing payments at registers and answered any questions about promotions, warranties, and other information in regards to their shopping experience. I also helped with the customer service desk and resolved issues customers may have had. I actively sought out customers throughout the store to assist, as well as cleaned, and maintained a professional appearance of stock near and at the registers. Further, I communicated and cooperated with my coworkers and managers to ensure the success of the store (including the staff).

TRAINER, PLANET FITNESS
Being a trainer, I assisted members reach their nutrition and fitness goals according to their specific needs and desires. I created workout programs based upon all medical and physical abilities or disabilities, as well as filed all relevant records of their progress and adjusted their programs as needed. I actively assisted members on the gym floor and gave relevant advice, and built rapport with each member I meet. Further, I oversaw cleaning specific sections of the gym (following certain guidelines) and cooperated with my coworkers regarding maintaining the appearance and ensuring the success of Planet Fitness (including its members).

I am currently earning my nutrition coach certification. After gaining personal and second-hand experience in the field, I have decided to expand my knowledge and continue my passion by earning a nutrition coach certification. Nutrition is a major key factor when it comes to a healthy lifestyle and I feel as though there is more than my current knowledge of nutrition out there. So, in order to better help others reach their goals, I want to stay well informed about any new findings and learn facts I have yet to come across.

I also made the Dean’s List during the Spring semester of 2019 for my hard work, dedication, and academic achievements.

I have taken supplemental classes at the Central New Mexico Community College to further my studies in secondary education and I have a 3.60 GPA in my major at this institution, as well. Also, I joined the Horticulture Club and volunteered to become the treasurer in order to help the club succeed. Since the beginning of the club, we have helped an elementary school build gardening beds and spread the knowledge of horticulture to the public.

It was not just due to the fact that it was a new year in which I decided to work on my transformation to be the best version of myself, I was tired of feeling like I was less than. I struggled quite a bit initially, but my brother helped me to keep pushing forward and to see myself in a better light. Then, I began to truly believe in myself and I enjoy the feel of pushing myself both physically and mentally to be better than my past self. I strive to reach new goals for myself on a daily basis. Fitness, nutrition, and helping others reach their goals are my passions in life!

I created and lead a project entitled “Homeless Care Packages” at my church that involved providing bags of non-perishable food, portable water, cards with locations of various homeless shelters, and a map to homeless and indigent members of our community.

GUITAR PROGRAM, MANZANO HIGH SCHOOL
As a member of the Manzano High School guitar program, I played both steel and nylon string guitars. I also became skilled as a guitar cleaner and eventually was charged with cleaning and storage of the program’s instruments for the duration of my time in the program.
