SUMMARY

Although my experience has been mostly in design, I am prepared to perform many Engineering functions. I have worked in the aerospace and automotive industries, product and tooling mostly using Catia Cad software. I worked as a machinist for 4 years before completing my Engineering degree and becoming a designer. I have learned about a variety of manufacturing operations by working with Engineers, Technicians, and operators on complicated processes with tight tolerances. I have always focused on continuous improvement.

WORK EXPERIECE

Barnes Aerospace Ogden(Fabrication shop) Ogden, UT, Assembler (Jul 2021-Present)

Assembling Laser fixtures for the B2 bomber from use of prints, Cad models and Engineers direction. Some machining and other various tasks as needed. I improved the drill grinding process by recording all the process variables into an Excell spreadsheet, increasing productivity of that process.

Spring Works Utah (Spring and Wire form manufacturer) Woods Cross Utah, UT, Technical Sales (July 2019-Oct 2019)

Out of my field, short term job, there was not enough work to keep me busy. However, I did learn a lot about springs and wire form products and processes in a short time. I replaced their standard paper quote card with an Excell spreadsheet which increased the quote process efficiency significantly, basically eliminating my job.

Orbital ATK (Composite structures) Clearfield, UT, Design Engineer (June 2017-April 2018)

Modeling and detailing custom carbon fiber manufacturing tooling and machines and various other design tasks using Catia V5and TCua (TeamCenter).

Autoliv (Airbag inflators) Ogden, UT, Design Engineer (Jul 2015-Oct 2016)

Modeling, detailing, revising small assemblies and parts, using Catia. I received training for Enovia/PLM and used it daily. Establishing new methods to solve existing quality problems with models, assemblies, and drawings. Converted models from Catia V4 (Unix) to V5 and upgraded models and drawings as needed.

ATK (Space structures) Magna, UT, Design Engineer (Mar 2013-Apr 2014, Oct 2014-Jan 2015)

Modeling and detailing tooling, composite structures, and clean room work platforms. Updated test tooling based on final load data from Northrop. Creating detail parts and assembly layouts using CATIA V5 and SmarTeam on the James Webb Space Telescope composite backplane. I also worked on the Star Tracker assembly for JWST.
