Responsible for about 50 students on the autism spectrum ranging from verbal to non-verbal with both the Day School and Adult Day with student ages ranging from 6 years to 26 years +. My position as school nurse included but is not limited to: Covid screenings daily of students and staff prior to the start of school, screening both students and staff for various illnesses including allergies, colds, coughs, runny noses, rashes, bruises, etc., contacting parents for their child getting sick at school or injured while at school either by phone, email or class dojo, passing all scheduled and prn medications, responding to seizures which includes being knowledgeable with seizure precursors and swiping a vagal nerve stimulator with a magnet, monitoring for any allergic reactions, knowing when to activate a headache protocol, seizure protocol or allergy action plan and treating all staff injuries including headaches, rashes, scratches, lacerations, bruises, etc. they receive from students in their care. I respond to all calls when staff have any concerns regarding a student and advise administration of my findings and follow their recommendation of observing student, having student push through and remain in class, or contacting the parent of changes in their child’s status

and having them pick the child up from school early.
