Design and develop, and market and maintain a rapid application development system that produced both online and batch Cobol applications for a variety of mainframe environments, including MVS, VSE, CICS, VSAM, Datacom/DB, SQL, and others.
Market and install the RAD system, named “MAGEC”, in major customers including some Fortune 500 companies.
Conduct project to produce major application systems for users of MAGEC and, occasionally, for non-users.
Provide ongoing maintenance support for the MAGEC software and for systems produced using it according to maintenance contracts. Design and manage development team to produce a full implementation of the MAGEC rapid application development system on a LAN using MicroFocus Cobol and supporting cooperative processing with mainframe applications via TCP/IP communications. Design and develop a LAMP-stack rapid application development system, based on the same principles as the successful mainframe version, designed to enable migrating major applications from the mainframe environment to the LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP).
