Associate Telecom Engineer Central

I work to resolve customer telecommunication issues and requests throughout campus. I maintain campus telephone cable records to assure customer information is accurate. I am responsible for the repair, maintenance, design, and installation of a variety of telecommunications/television systems, networks, equipments, components and cables. I Work in conjunction with the ordering of OPX and 1FB circuits for off campus telecommunication needs. I interface with AT&T to verify final testing and acceptance. I am on site at times with the TELCO technician to ensure the circuit was installed to the drop off point needed. Work involves testing, repair, assembly, integration, design, evaluation, modification, fabrication, and maintenance. All job duties require a practical knowledge of science, mathematics, engineering, and computing systems. From 3/2011 to 8/2021 I was heavily involved in migrating the Auburn University campus telephone system to Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP). I verified charges and insured accuracy on monthly bills for all telecommunication services. I completed a monthly telephone statement and would submit all charges for payment. Associate Engineer - Network Design/Provisioning Engineer I was responsible for the design of Powertel's voice network. This included a variety of telecommunication circuits. I designed, documented, implemented, and coordinated all circuits. I ordered and tracked new circuits until final testing and acceptance had occurred. Provisioning Engineer: Ensured the ordering of various types of telecommunication circuits. I interfaced with many telephone carriers such as MCI, AT&T, and many other smaller TELCO companies to verify charges of circuits and to assure final testing and acceptance. I was responsible for the accuracy of all order tracking sheets, DS1 Routing sheets and any other records necessary for documentation. I participated in corporate meetings and team meetings to help in resolve difficulties that hampered completion of installations.

I monitored Powertel's PCS telecommunications network from our 7x24 Network Operations Center located in West Point, GA.
