IT’S EASY TO BET ON THE HORSES!

To place the bet of your choice, simply go to any Mutuel window, state the TRACK, the RACE NUMBER, the AMOUNT of the bet, the TYPE of bet (Win, Place, Show, Quiniela, etc.) and the PROGRAM # of the horse(s). Example: Zia Park, Race Number 4, $5.00 to Win on #7. Winning tickets may be collected at any Mutuel window. All wagers are $2.00 minimum except wheels and boxes, which have a minimum of $1.00. TYPES OF BETS

WIN – You win if your horse finishes first.

PLACE – You win if your horse finishes first or second. SHOW – You win if your horse finishes first, second or third. ACROSS THE BOARD – This bet combines a WIN, PLACES and SHOW bet on the horse of your choice.

WIN, PLACE is offered on every race (SHOW bet may not be allowed by the Mutuel Manager of the track that is racing if the field of horses in a race is found to not be of equal caliber). DAILY DOUBLE – The object is to pick the winner of both the 1st and 2nd races. For example, if you like the #5 horse in the 1st race and the #7 horse in the 2nd race, simply ask any Mutuel teller for a $2.00 Daily Double on #5 and #7. If both horses win, you win!

EXACTA – To win, you pick the first two horses to cross the finish line in the EXACT ORDER. QUINIELA – To win, you pick the first two horses to cross the finish line. The order in which they finish doesn’t matter. (Not every track or race will have a QUINIELA; the mutuel teller may offer you an EXACTA instead).

TRIFECTA – To win, you pick the first three horses to cross the finish line in EXACT ORDER. (There may not be enough horses running in a particular race to allow TRIFECTA betting). PICK 3 – To win, you pick the winner in thee consecutive races. (There is also a PICK 4, PICK 6, PICK 8, PICK 10 and PICK 12. Winning one of these bets is hard to do but usually has a large pay out to the winner. Remember depending on the bet you choose, you must pick the winner of every race). SUPERFECTA – To win, pick the first four horses to cross the finish line in EXACT ORDER. The minimum bet at some tracks can be as low as $.10

TRI-SUPER – Is a special bet, not offered at all tracks. To win, you pick the first three horses to cross the finish line in the first race. Go to the Mutuel window and give them your winning ticket. You will be paid for the winning ticket. The Mutuel teller will give you an exchange ticket for you to use when you have decided what horses you want in the second race. Use the exchange ticket to pay for your bet on the second race. This will be harder to win; you must pick the first four horses to cross the finish line in EXACT ORDER. If nobody wins the TRI-SUPER the wagered pool rolls on to the next race day’s TRI-SUPER. To increase your chances of winning you may want to bet on several combinations with your favorite horse(s). This can be done easily with the following bet variations: EXAMPLES:

WHEELS – This bet combines your horse with every horse in the race, or in the case of the DAILY DOUBLE with every horse in the other half of the DAILY DOUBLE. You may wheel a horse in the DAILY DOUBLE, QUINIELA, EXACTA, TRIFECTAS and SUPERFECTA. BET YOU GET COST

$2 Quiniela Wheel #7 1-7,2-7,3-7,4-7,5-7,6-7,7-8,7-9,7-10 9 bets @ $2 = $18 PARTIAL WHEEL – This bet allows you to wheel only the horses you like. BET YOU GET COST

$2 Daily Double Wheel 1-1,1-4,1-6,3-1,3-4,3-6 6 bets @ $2 = $12

#1, 3 with #1,4,6

$2 Quiniela Wheel 1-2,2-4,2-7,2-8 4 bets @ $2 = $8

#2 with #1,4,7,8

$2 Exacta Wheel 2-4,2-7,2-8 3 bets @ $2 = $6

#2 on top (1st) with 4,7,8

BOX – This bet gives you all the possible combinations of three or more horses. Used on QUINIELAS, EXACTAS, TRIFECTAS and SUPERFECTAS.
