June, 1965 to September, 1969: I worked as an Office Manager for D. F. Weaver, M.D. of Detroit, MI. Dr. Weaver was an otolaryngologist and head, neck and facial plastic surgeon. My duties consisted of scheduling office appointments and surgeries, billing, assisting with patients. September, 1969 – August, 2000: I was employed at Tolfree Memorial Hospital (later the West Branch Regional Medical Center, 2463 South M-30, West Branch, MI 48661, 989-***-****) in the Cardio-Pulmonary Department as senior cardiology technologist. I performed EKG’s, Holter monitors and cardiac stress tests. I also did EKG and Holter interpretations. I was active in the Employee’s Benefit Club and served as President several times. I was also actively involved with the Hospital Community Relations Committee.
September, 2001 – October, 2004: I was employed by Saginaw Bay Human Services, Inc. (125 S. Forest, Standish, MI 48658, 989-***-****) as a Direct Care Worker at both the Elm and Grove Homes where I cared for six physically and/or mentally challenged clients. October, 2004 – June 30, 2012: I was employed at Kirtland Community College (10775 N. St. Helen Road, Roscommon, MI 48653) as part-time Faculty Support Staff and I thoroughly enjoyed my work there. I was responsible for maintaining and updating faculty documents such as syllabi, various schedules, exams, etc., as well as making copies, scanning, doing online research and preparing flyers and posters when necessary. And, because I worked until 6:30 p.m. during the fall and winter semesters, I was available to assist faculty and students with a multitude of situations as they occurred. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, my position was eliminated.
July, 2012 – September, 2017: I worked for Mark Hickey in West Branch, MI. Mark owns a welding shop and also, at that time, was managing HUD homes. I was his office manager and my primary responsibilities consisted of creating inspection reports for all of the homes that required biweekly inspections, including numerous photos, all of which had to be uploaded to various websites each day. I also was in charge of planning weekly assignment routes for the drivers, so that all of the houses were inspected in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the money in the inspection business declined considerably and Mark was forced to close up that aspect of his business.
Following that, I worked very sparsely during the holiday season at the Bass Outlet store in West Branch while on unemployment.. The Bass store has since closed. In February of 2018 I was employed by ACT Transportation company as a driver, transporting non-emergency medical clients to and from their various appointments and have been so employed until May 27, 2023.
I enjoy driving and have no problem doing so in all types of weather and for long distances. I am a very reliable employee with a strong work ethic and, fortunately, have been blessed with excellent health so that I don’t find it necessary to call off “sick.” I am seeking full time employment, preferably in a driving position.
OUTSIDE INTERESTS:
I have owned, raised, and shown collies since 1984. I am a Quarter Century member of Collie Club of America and a founding member of the Greater Brighton Collie Club. I have served the CCA as Michigan District Director for several years, was the editor of their national magazine, The Bulletin, for 4 years and was the first editor to prepare the publication entirely on the computer to send “camera ready” to the publisher. I was also the editor of the 2006 Yearbook. I served the GBCC as both President and Secretary for several terms and also prepared the monthly newsletter while serving as Secretary. I also served as show secretary for six combined specialty shows for 3 years running and was seminar chairman twice. References:
