WORK EXPERIENCE:

State of New York, Office of the Governor

Special Assistant to the New York State Secretary of State (May 2022-Present)

Personal assistant to the Secretary of State. Helping to draft correspondence letters for contacts of the Secretary. Facilitating travel (Driving). Created a system to work in tandem with Microsoft Outlook to organize and catalog all contacts with the office through business cards, meetings, and public events.

State of New York, Executive Chamber

Special Assistant to the former Lieutenant Governor (February 2022- May 2022)

Served as a personal assistant who accompanied the former Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York virtually everywhere. Served as Advance for public events to ensure operations ran smoothly. Helped to facilitate interactions with media and the public-at-large. Executed event briefing documents for the Lt. Governor, and for family, meals, and personal briefings. Also worked with the communications team to draft correspondence and social media outreach.

Internship, Sports Desk (October 2020 – Present)

Interning on the Sports desk at the nation’s oldest Black-owned newspaper covering sports analysis. Wrote and published several articles in the newspaper, including an analysis of the Major League Baseball World Series and the untold stories of African American athletes.

Package Sorter (June 2018 – January 2020)

Started as Package Unloader and promoted to Package Sorter within six months. Responsibilities included making sure thousands of packages were safely routed to the correct location.
