Heavy Duty Mechanic/Electrician (April 2022- Current Date)

BigHorn Mine (Alberta)

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic/Electrician for BigHorn Mine. My duties are running repairs in the the open pit mine. On CAT D11-10 dozers, CAT 793,789 and 785 haul trucks. CAT 18M graders, along with a CAT 6060 shovel. Komatsu 730-830 haul trucks. Komatsu PC 2000 excavator, PC 5500 shovels. Troubleshooting along with services on a daily routine.

Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic (June 2015 – March 2022)

Potash Corp. (Saskatchewan)

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic for PCS, my duties are to troubleshooting and maintaining the mining equipment. We currently maintain 4 rotor miners, Tokars and loaders, and all belt lines underground.

Open Pit Maintenance Shift Supervisor (June 2014 – November 2014)

As the acting lead shift supervisor for a crew of 66 personnel which includes HV Electricians, Lube Service Personnel and Mechanics, I ensure our Maintenance team understands and meets our operational targets. I also support our Superintendents and Managers in implementing sound SWP’s. As a Komatsu dealer on-site supervisor, I work with numerous departments at the mine site to meet our production, safety and manpower goals. Twice a week we meet with our Planning department to plan our weekly maintenance schedule, ensuring that we work towards keeping our client satisfied. As the Lead Shift Supervisor, I participate in incident investigations, develop the reports and institute corrective action.

Mechanical & Electrical On The Job Trainer (July 2011 – June 2014)

Transwest - Rio-Tinto Oyu Tolgoi Project (Mongolia)

As an Advisor (On The Job Trainer) for a Komatsu dealer, my duties are to train the Nationals on assembly, troubleshooting and maintaining the mining equipment. At the Oyu Tolgoi Project, we currently maintain Komatsu 930 AC haul trucks, HM-400, HD785 trucks. 375 & 475 dozers, and WA1200, WA600 loaders. I have also had the role as backup shift supervisor, with the ability to work through the SAP maintenance software.

Heavy Duty Mechanic Trainer (September 2010 – May 2011)

Centerra Gold - Kumtor Mine (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan)

As a Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trainer for a gold mining company, my duties were to train the Nationals on to safe troubleshooting of mobile equipment, as well as developing the correct procedures for fixing mechanical and electrical problems. We maintained and serviced CAT 777 and 789 haul trucks, CAT D10 dozers along with CAT 5130 shovels, Atlas Copco and Sandvik drills.

Mechanic (October 2008 –September 2010)

Finning Canada (Fort McMurray, Alberta Canada)

As a mechanic working for Finning, my duties included both sides of the company: new equipment prep as well as the field services. For new equipment preparation, I built 797, 793, 777 CAT haul trucks. With respect to servicing, there was dozer undercarriage work, troubleshooting engine, transmission, hydraulic, and wiring problems, as well as component change outs on all Caterpillar equipment. Working with SIS WED and CAT ET computer programs.

Mechanic and Electrician (November 2004 – October 2008)

Coal Valley Resourses (Edson, Alberta Canada)

I was first hired as an Electrician where my duties were to maintain and service the draglines and electric drive trucks, troubleshoot and correct electrical issues, as well as electrical plant maintenance in the coal plant.

I then began working a mechanical apprenticeship, and worked on CAT D9, D10, D11, dozers. CAT 330, 5130 and O&K 120 excavators. CAT 777, 789 haul trucks. Also, worked on Wabco 685E electric drives haul trucks, Unit Rig M100 trucks, CAT 910, 920, 992 loaders, CAT 16H, 16G 24M graders. Also, gained experience with draglines as well as Terex drills. I also worked as shift supervisor on night shifts.

Qualifications

In 1998 I started my electrical apprenticeship working in the oil and gas industry for Ber-Mac Electrical and Instrumentation. I finished my apprenticeship in 2002, and then left Ber-Mac in 2004 to work for Coal Valley mine. After a year I was awarded with a Heavy-Duty Mechanic apprenticeship. I finished my apprenticeship with Finning in November 2009.

Heavy Duty Mechanics (April 2009)

As of April 2009, I finished my Alberta training at Red Deer College for my Heavy Duty Mechanics. On November of 2009, I received my Journeymen’s ticket and finished the 4-year apprenticeship program.

Electrical (May 2002)

As of May 2002, I finished my Alberta training at Red Deer College for my Electrical Journeymen’s ticket, completing the 4-year apprenticeship program.
