Qualifications

Sales, marketing, and management in top executive roles that has have allowed Jim to bring new energy related products successfully to the marketplace, especially wind, solar and waste to energy projects. As a management leader Jim has grown the last two companies to the point that public state utility companies became interested enough to acquire his companies which has allow Jim to prove his leadership and management skills in the energy and related fields. Hands on knowledge of the energy and renewable energy technologies has allowed Jim to developed and manage projects using such technologies as fuel cells, reciprocating engines, gas turbines, compressed natural gas systems, engine driven chillers, various boiler types, and absorption chillers as well as waste to energy technologies. Sales and marketing these technologies such as wind turbines, alternate fuels, waste to energy, commercial and industrial large solar installations, vehicle to grid energy storage, plus many other energy savings technologies and products, has allowed Jim to be a leader it this field. Jim firm marketed, sold and installed the first fuel cell in Massachusetts and the first privately developed, own and operated wind farm for Community’s usage (Town of Fairhaven) in a public/private agreement. Some recent onsite power projects are Merckens Chocolate, Loctite, Jordan Hospital and Wellesley College, Simonds International and Varian. Jim has been a guest speaker at many seminars, conferences, and has traveled abroad to attend important industry conferences. As former Chairman of the On-Site Power/Distributed Generation Committee for the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association (NECA), he has been able to stay actively involved in regulatory issues and emerging technologies. Jim was also a member of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) which is a national community of businesspeople who believe in protecting the environment while building economic prosperity. Working with NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), E2 serves as a champion on the economic side of good environmental policy. Along with these organizations Jim has belonged to many renewable and energy associations to help promote wind, solar, biomass, fuel storage, smart grid and other renewable energy technologies. Jim planned conferences, to include looking at new products, technologies and obtaining guest speakers for trade shows and conferences. Consulting on Power Plant development, water and sewer plants, plant maintenance, landfill projects plus an emphasis on renewable technologies such as wind and solar and waste to energy has been the main business of his previous firms. Unrelated to the above Jim has worked various jobs such as a union steamfitter, plumbing, HVAC maintenance and even as a manager of a food truck in the Hamptons.

2007- CCI Energy LLC, Plymouth, MA & BVA Energy LLC, Plymouth, MA

present & Klean Industries (formerly CRR Carbon Resources Recovery LLC)

Part owner of CCI Energy LLC doing business in the energy field (wind), and owner of BVA Energy LLC. BVA is a stockholder and member in CRR which was acquired by Klean Industries (Klean). Jim continues to stay involved in these fields thru his ownership in CCI Energy and BVA. Jim sold a major interest in CCI Energy in 2010 and started BVA Energy in 2014 to market energy efficiency, solar, wind, waste to energy and other energy related equipment. Jim continues to stay involved in new technologies with a higher emphasis on renewable and sustainable solutions for our environmental and energy needs. These last two summers Jim worked summers on a food truck as manager for owner.

1997- 2006 CCI Energy LLC. Plymouth, MA

Founded this energy project development corporation. Provides energy systems as turnkey systems with several ownership options to include CCI’s build, own, project manage and operate.

Traveled throughout the country and overseas in search of state-of-the-art energy systems to represent and offer to CCI’s clients.

President of Stirling Advantage; Stirling engine in the New England area.

Provided consulting services for evaluation of power plant operations, landfill gas plants, digesters, and water and sewer plant operations.

Part owner two commercial 1.5 MW wind turbines.

1989-1997 BVA COGEN, INC. Plymouth, MA

President

Founded this energy project development corporation. Installed turnkey, on-site power systems, including feasibility studies, permitting, engineering, installation, financing, project management and service contracts.

Obtained a 50% partnership in Jenbacher Energie Systems product line for the US, later sold this interest back to Jenbacher after marketing and installing and maintaining the first dozen systems in the USA which created an interest by General Electric (a competitor). Which enabled them to sell that interest to General Electric who had a much larger marketing team.

Obtained Deutz natural gas cogen engines marketing rights for New England, now marketed directly by Deutz USA.

Sold business to YESCo, a subsidiary of Yankee Gas, and stayed on for the first transition year as the president of that subsidiary.

1981-1989. COST CONTAINMENT INC. (CCI) Plymouth. MA

Started my first cogeneration project development company.

Traveled throughout the country and overseas to find the best equipment to represent. Obtained the MAN cogeneration units for the USA and installed the first 7 units in the United States.

Installed many of the first small scale cogeneration facilities in New England at such places as the Sheraton and Bay State Gas computer centers, Boston and Taunton school systems and other commercial and industrial facilities.

Installed turnkey on-site power systems to include feasibility studies, permitting, engineering, installation, financing, project management and service contracts.

Sold business to Energy Networks, a subsidiary of Connecticut Natural Gas Co. and stayed on for the first transition year as the president of that subsidiary.

1980-1981 LITTON FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS Waltham, MA

Sold and installed automation and fiber-optic security systems in New England.

Managed one of four Regional offices for Litton, including office start-up, hiring engineers and service staff, and reviewing monthly financial statements and project management.

Office moved to Blacksburg, Virginia. I moved on and started Cost Containment Inc.
