HR Block Data Platform Team June 2021-Present

● Data Engineer on Data Ops team working with big data using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Databricks Python, Power BI, Excel and Spark SQL.

● Implemented a batch solution for our online tax software using Databricks and Azure Data Factory pipelines running daily to replace the legacy online tax software infrastructure. Also created a Fact table for our database allowing us to quickly view key fields from our data warehouse and replicate them across other team’s DBs using stored procedures.

● Working on prod support finding bugs, rerunning pipelines and implementing code changes to fix defects in order to maintain the databases for our enterprise applications and services.

● Performing daily data analysis tasks such as pricing reports, legal reports, and other reports.

● Conducted biomedical research and data analysis for the Missouri State/Missouri S&T MoSLAMP STEM research lab which involved inquiry, design, investigation, research, data analysis, writing, and presenting results.

● Used machine learning Python libraries to extract and analyze data from CSVs and Excel files.

● Designed a Python-based software application for the Windows environment that employed a custom user interface to deploy different machine learning algorithms to quickly graph biomedical data on patients suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

● Conducted extensive research investigating the impact of noise on recurrent neural networks(RNN), specifically Long Short Term Memory networks(LSTM). Also analyzed biomedical patient data using machine learning Dimensionality-Reduction techniques like Isomap, clustering algorithms such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) as well as the OpenCV (open source computer vision) library.
