Project: Blocking unwanted traffic

Scope: Goodcorps HR manager has requested to block games.

●On LAN interface created a firewall rule blocking traffic and added a rule to the WAN interface to allow ICMP traffic.

Project: Configured remote access

Scope: Warehouse manager requests VPN access for employees.

●Forwarded traffic from WAN to LAN via Debian and Ubuntu VM.

●Used Pfsense to create a NAT port forwarding rule.

Project: Detect DoS and Brute-Force attacks

Scope: A company CISO decides to implement a detection and prevention system against potential known network attacks.

●Used the browser on Ubuntu and to browse pfSense management page.

●Installed the Suricata package to accomplish detection and prevention tasks.

Project: Connect to Splunk and investigate events

Scope: An organization hired a security analyst after the head of security was released from the company. The organization’s monitoring system identified Suspicious download activities captured in honeypots and the Splunk Recorded the events.

●Via Ubuntu VM used POP3 protocol. Installed telnet on Windows 10 VM.
