Tower Crew Manager

Oversee all technical aspects of the telecommunications equipment deployment at assigned job/sites and is the onsite leader and decision maker on all issues falling under the position's scope. This starts with reviewing all site documents to ensure that my team can complete the work in a safe manner. If it is determined we have a safety concern, it is addressed immediately and a plan to work the project safely is implemented. Determine and manage the distribution of the equipment and materials necessary for the deployment, planning and scheduling the installation and construction of the jobsite, including project schedules, forecasting, and sequencing of work, auditing the construction upon completion, approving the construction as complete or declining the construction as incomplete. Ensure construction decisions come within the budget and accurately forecast all upcoming work while being in constant contact with the project managers and other key stakeholders.

In the pre-sales phase and early phase of the project, providing input to the Customer Project Manager on the level of efforts (including number of hours) required based on the scope of the project, which will be used to develop the budget for the project.

Ensure the appropriateness of the site for deployment, selecting the employees or suppliers to perform the construction on the site, and negotiating the scope items with suppliers.

Site Walk, Document Review and preconstruction meeting to ensure all is built per scope knowing crew safety is paramount.

Scheduling crews for site work, meeting with them daily to ensure site built safely and within budget.

Conduct meetings with key stakeholders to ensure they are up to date with our current builds as well as our future schedule.

Determine whether construction has been properly and accurately completed, if not, reject the construction and require employees to perform additional work until the construction is properly and accurately completed.

Review all time sheets completed by each team member to ensure that all hours for the project are approved to be billed to customer vs having to be billed elsewhere. This ensures all projects are built within budget. Create reports that show leadership where all crew hours are being billed.

Providing performance-related feedback on Ericsson employees performing work on or pertaining to a job/site, as needed and for use in yearly performance evaluations.

Managing fleet trucks and trailers to ensure they were kept DOT compliant and worthy to be on the road.

ERICSSON Texas 01/2001 - 11/2017

Installer, Field Tech I, II, Senior Field Engineer

In this role I went from an installer to a Senior Field engineer in the above time frame. I was responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of the Nextel, Sprint and Clearwire networks. In this role I also helped start Ericsson’s tower climbing business so as a group, we were conduction all repairs both below the tower as well as on the tower top. This required extensive training of all field technicians on my team. Consistently met all benchmarks set forth by leadership demonstrating we could all be top performers. As the leader I was responsible for ensuring all team members were meeting all SLAs for our customer.

Install and integrate new network elements within various types of radio base stations .

Testing, commissioning, and acceptance of various types of fiber optic equipment both long haul and at the customer premises.

Monitor Network constantly for changes, outages and customer affecting issues.

Manage tickets (dispatching) for outages, schedule and complete repairs to the network as needed.

Oversee all activities of my team to ensure they were completing their work on time and per scope. Assist and train as needed.

Responsible for Network Recovery during several disasters operating as a strike team lead.

Installation of Cell on Wheels (COW) during disasters as well as special events.
