Shortly after signing up for my final year of college, I went to work for The Dometic Corporation where I worked from July 15, 1981 until August 31, 2019. In my capacity of work I have been a customer service manager, warehouse manager, Planner for service parts and planner for production goods from Acrylic and vinyl plastic for making awnings to steel tube for manufacturing cooling units for absorption refrigerators for the RV Market, and also have been the manager of the service parts department.
My final 11 years with Dometic I was the materials manager for our refrigerator manufacturing plant which was in Elkhart, Indiana. I supervised 4 planners (all of which I trained) and also had one assistant manager as well as being untimately responsible for around 50 material planners who serviced our 6 production lines and their supervisor.
As part of my responsibilities I also managed our inventory control and on time delivery of products to keep our production line building products for the RV Market. I established our first cycle count program to help keep our inventory correct and was also responsible for annual inventory.
When we first moved our refrigerator plant from Sweden to the US I was responsible for reducing our inventory from 14M to around 8 million over the first 5 years of production in the US. That was in 2009 to 2014.
I know this is not your typical resume but I retired in 2019 to take care of my father who has alzheimers and only lately had to move him into a nursing home. I will be 68 on June 21st but am very interested in working again. As you can see, I have had few jobs in my working life although before I came to Dometic I workded for :
Sky Chef – American airlines for 2 years. Catering planes at DFW airport and then dispatching trucks to the airport to do the same.
Maremont Industries – a muffler and shock company who supplied material to Sears and other companies. I worked there one year before they moved to Oklahoma and I was not offered a position to move with them.
Ace Hardware Supply Warehouse in Arlington, Texas. I worked there two years before I received an opportunity to move to Dometic to work back when Dometic was basically a refrigerator import company and private label of air conditioners. In 1985, Dometic bought A & E Awnings in California and Duotherm Corporation in Lagrange, Indiana and I was offered a position to orgarnize our first combined customer service group.
I am a very dedicated employee, I have had many roles at Dometic both in Supervision and in independent capacities. I believe I could do a great job for you for the next four or five years if you are interested.
