IT Help Desk/Security – Syntelligent Analytic Solutions (DOD) - 2020-Present

Working in an O365 environment along with Azure, process user account creation and assignment, password resets, and remote software configuration. Monitor security logs via Fortigate, and maintain SAISS Federal standards with required documentation.

Remote Systems Analyst – Harrisburg Area Community College 2017-2019 (2 Yr limited contract)

Performed advanced technical analysis and provided support for enterprise systems and integrations. The position communicated iith business analysts, technical stakeholders, and functional users to support enterprise solutions that addressed complex business needs. I was requested (in 2013) by the now VP of Information Technology and Learning Experience to conduct a health review of the Banner installation and interview the current staff. He was given a written and verbal report on my findings.

In 2014 through mid 2017, I was contracted to work on-site to assist then current members of IT Staff, Business Analysts(who at that time did not report to Technology), and other Vice Presidents on a variety of projects. Utilizing my knowledge skills, and abilities from prior Banner experience.

Below, please find a sampling (not an inclusive list) of projects worked on:

•Turned on Banner's wait listing process

•Was Acting Registrar during a departure

•Was an Acting Student Business Analyst during a departure

•Deployed Banner's Distributed Security --- Allowing user groups to assign banner access

•Deployed a “Talking Database” to send emails to groups based on events

•Streamlined the Registration Purge process and eliminated “penny” holds

•Enhanced a process to populate the College LMS

•Converted custom Cobol programs to PL/SQL

•Procured and deployed an address update system.

•Provided one-on-one training with newly acquired Systems and Business Analyst not familiar with Banner.

•Worked with the Provost on Prerequisite logic.

Applications Director (Title/Pay grade change) - Delaware Technical Community College - 2007- 2012(Retired)

Responsible for overseeing and directing the administration of the ERP and other college- wide applications at each campus location, including working directly with college wide administration, campus administration, and campus managers to ensure proper functionality and implement policy changes. Researched emerging technology trends as they related to administrative systems. Assisted the Chief Technology Officer in strategic planning and direction for college-wide applications and Web Services.

Manager of Application Systems - Delaware Technical Community College - 2004-2007

Sr. Applications Systems Specialist - Delaware Technical Community College - 1987-2004

Mainframe (Burroughs 770, Unisys A5, Unisys A6) (1987-1999)

Design, development, coding, and maintenance programming (Cobol, RPG II, Reporter,WFL, etc.) for Student, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Alumni, and third party integration.

Designed and wrote a Pre Admission System to augment the College's software offerings.

Acquisition, design, and development of a touch tone registration and payment system. With subsequent enhancements, this also became a College notification system in the event of closings.

Acquisition, deployment, and continued operation of a Novell Network.

Wrote a voluminous RFP to acquire Cisoco Routers and Terminal Servers to replace older and slower equipment.

Acquired a Class B Internet address for the College and all State of Delaware libraries and connected the college to the Internet utilizing Cisco Routers.

Was selected by the Governor to work on a committee to wire and network all public K-12 classrooms to the Internet (The a $30 Million dollar project)

Banner (Solaris) (1999-2007)

Co-Wrote an RFP to acquire Banner as a replacement to the mainframe.

Wrote coding and extracts to populate the Banner System with data from the mainframe. This required an immense amount of data correction and “right sizing”.

Led a team to populate the College's existing catalog (Using Banner Forms) and apply Pre Requisites.

Principal support of Banner's Student Module. Co coverage of other module as required utilizing Sql, PL/SQL., Cobol, and C).

Implemented a custom Web Payment system that was much less expensive than most offerings at the time.

Implemented an Emergency Notification System.

Designed and wrote a system to interface Banner information with Blackboard. Wrote a College Articulation matrix on the Web.

Set up a remote Operating environment with a small Solaris System, tape backups, and Oracle log files transmitted to a system in another county in the event the main server was inoperable.

Trained technical and non technical staff in the use of Banner. Was responsible for End of Term processing.

Migrated the College's non-credit division to an external vendor cloud service. Investigated a replacement Pre Requisite System (Degree Works).

Senior Programmer/Analyst – ILC Dover (DOD) - 1984-1987

Design, development, coding, and maintenance programming (Cobol, RPG II, JCL, etc.) for Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, HR, and Inventory Control.

PC acquisition, configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

Developed a customized and automated system for Depart of Defense Federal reporting requirements to support the Shuttle Spacesuit Program utilizing Datatreive, Fortran, and supporting Screen base on a DEC PDP-11/70. Leveraging access to systems and coalescing information into one cohesive system freed up 5 bookkeepers for other tasks.

Wrote an RFP and secured and deployed a Xerox CAD/CAM system (Unix) to replace drafting boards.

Video Game Technician/Assembler – American Communication Labs -1981-1984

Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality control of probability/chance video games for Arcades and other establishments. Fabrication, soldering components, programming EPROMS, etching circuit boards, and minor video game programming. Responsibility from NYC to Miami, FL for service and collection of 50/50 splits with vendors.
